Note: We are evaluating this pump for use in a hydroponic system-a purpose for which it was not originally intended.

Description

This miniature pump runs on low voltage (12 V DC), draws minimal current, and comes with a short length of tubing and plug-and-play connectors. It's fully submersible, with a sealed design and a fixed outlet nozzle.

Advantages

• Very affordable and easy to source-ideal for getting started quickly
• Low power consumption keeps operating costs minimal
• Pump output is well-balanced: strong enough to circulate nutrient solution without damaging delicate roots or seedlings

Disadvantages

• Sealed housing cannot be opened for detailed cleaning
• Not specifically manufactured for hydroponics-no dedicated hydroponic filtration or mounting features
• Must remain fully submerged in the grow medium or nutrient solution
• No provision to attach a pre-filter, increasing risk of clogging

Cleaning

When the pump becomes clogged or loses performance, remove it from the system and scrub the intake and outlet with a small brush. Rinse thoroughly before reinstalling.
